Each class contains different information\, and you will receive a calendar notice from NYWGF for each day. \nThe Tasting Room Best Practices workshop series from the WISE Academy\, specifically for NYWGF Members\, focuses on the most prudent areas for increasing sales skills and raising the bar with the WISE Triple Score – asking for the order\, effectively presenting and selling the wine club\, as well as collecting contact data – all in a brand-appropriate way. Give your team members the resources and build confidence in leveraging your brand\, winery & wine knowledge into exceptional customer service and sales skills. \n7 Secrets of Professional Selling \n\nLeveraging Your Brand. Brand basics exercise helps team understand the importance of getting each wineries’ unique brand message boiled down into compelling and memorable stories and sound bites.\nUnderstanding Your Guests. Explore how not all visitors are created equal and understand that they have different psychological needs depending on where they are at on the Buyers’ Continuum. How to shift gears accordingly for different needs of each category from prospects to first-time buyers to repeat buyers to raving fans. Beyond the Buyer’s Continuum\, explore how not all wine buyers are created equal and understand that they have different psychological needs depending on what their relationship is with wine in general. How to shift gears accordingly for different needs of each category from “newbies” to “know-it-alls” and beyond.\nBuilding Rapport. Skills development on use of effective ice-breakers\, the right open-ended questions\, compelling analogies and great story telling. Homework has them expand on these tools using more winery specifics. SUMMARY:VineBalance RFP Information Session
DESCRIPTION:The New York Wine and Grape Foundation seeks a consultant to update VineBalance as the basis for a new sustainability certification program for the New York grape and wine industry. To support this process\, we will be holding an online information session on June 16\, 2021 at 1pm/EDT. \nClick Here to Register \nBackground: \nNYWGF is developing a third-party certification for sustainably farmed grapes and wine. The basis for this certification will be the VineBalance Guide to Sustainable Viticulture\, a grower self-assessment workbook codeveloped by the Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Soil and Water Conservation Committee of the New York Department of Agriculture and Markets in 2007. This workbook has been widely applied across the state\, but it lacks a system of third-party verification and logo for special labeling. A pilot program for Yates County grape growers will begin in 2022 with the intent to expand statewide. The program will serve winegrowers who cultivate V. vinifera\, V. labrusca\, and hybrid grape varieties. Growers who achieve certification will be permitted to use the logo for direct-to-consumer marketing. This market-based approach will provide a continuous incentive for value-added producers to purchase sustainably farmed grapes and increase the visibility of sustainable wines in the marketplace. \nThe purpose of the RFP is to provide high level strategic and structural recommendations for certification design based on sustainability best practices\, while balancing the small-scale and independent nature of New York’s wine industry. The ideal candidate will be experienced in East Coast climate and agriculture\, viticulture and enology\, international standards of sustainable winegrowing\, and environmental certifications deployed by other agricultural industries.
