Choose your date and starting winery on one of three itineraries and embark on a self-guided winery tour between 11 am and 5 pm at your leisure. Your ticket includes a souvenir wine glass plus a tasting flight at each of the locations on your itinerary. \nBut that’s not all! The first 200 ticket holders will receive a free white spruce pine tree sapling at their starting winery (while supplies last). Plant this little tree and do your part for our planet while enjoying delicious wine. DESCRIPTION:We’re are thrilled to kick off our 2024 season with our first annual event\, Roll Out the Barrels!\nOver the course of a weekend\, enjoy special access to pre-release and newly released wines\, spirits and ciders. Travel the trail at your own pace for this self-guided tour. Tickets are $30pp (at the door\, $25 presale) and include three samples of pre-released or newly released wines at each stop. You will have special purchasing access for some of the sampled products before anyone else! Some locations will also offer access to production areas giving guests visibility into the wine\, spirit or cider making process\, too.\nThis event is held on both Saturday and Sunday (11AM-6PM)\, and your ticket if valid for both days. We will also take a look at: \n\nWho needs coverage and who does not need coverage\nHow and when to report an injury or illness (including COVID-19)\nConsiderations when hiring independent contractors\, laborers\, and domestic workers\nLowering premiums\nPenalties and where to go for assistance with them\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT OUR PRESENTERS…\nAnthony Tomaselli\nAs the Workers’ Compensation Board’s Advocate for Business\, Anthony leads the office that serves as the liaison between New York’s business community and the Board\, providing helpful assistance to employers on issues related to workers’ compensation\, disability benefits\, and Paid Family Leave. \nAnthony joined the Board after more than 8 years at the NYS Office of General Services\, where he helped build the successful NYS Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) program. He also served at the Empire State Development Corporation\, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services\, as a social studies teacher in the Brentwood\, Seaford\, and New Lebanon school districts\, and as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWalt Perretti\nAs a 27-year veteran with the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board\, Mr. Walt Peretti was initially hired to develop the Managed Care Network / PPO Program that provided patient care for Workers’ Compensation claims. After Mr. Peretti’s successful launch of provider networks throughout NYS\, this culminated into greater efficiency and enhanced treatment outcomes for workers’ compensation injuries. During his career advancement into various roles within the Board’s Compliance department\, Walt was responsible for helping employers resolve their compliance issues. \nCurrently\, he educates employers on the benefits of NYS workers’ compensation\, disability insurance\, and Paid Family Leave requirements. Additionally\, Walt provides in-service training to Code Enforcement Officers throughout NYS and is the designated liaison between NYS agencies and authorities for procurement efforts of goods and services. As an integral part of the Advocate for Business’s unit\, he responds to employer inquiries by providing guidance and resources to assist them. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here

Most recently\, SLF was detected in Romulus\, New York in the Finger Lakes region. The Departments are working closely with partners on the state and federal levels on measures to combat the population\, control its spread to other areas of New York State\, and protect New York’s agricultural crops. \nAs adult SLFs emerge this summer\, New York State has been hearing concerns from New York residents regarding SLF control. State officials and Cornell experts will share tips with residents on how to combat SLF on their properties\, as well as information on the SLF’s life cycle and what to expect for the rest of this summer and through the fall and winter seasons. The Department of Agriculture and Markets will also showcase its use of drones as one tool in the fight against SLF.

She started her career in beverage alcohol in Vancouver with Mark Anthony Brands\, where she worked in sales for 3 years\, followed by a move to Toronto where she subsequently worked in regional trade and national brand marketing for 4 years. She was then recruited by Lifford Wine & Spirits where she worked as their Sales Director for 2 years. Throughout this experience she gained an in-depth understanding of route to market and commercialization in all markets across Canada. She has strong relationships with liquor boards and retailers nationally where she has built wine and spirit brands with suppliers from around the world. Andrea is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Drinks Ontario\, the provincial trade association representing agents\, producers\, importers and trade offices\, offering a credible voice on trade\, regulatory and policy issues. \nMelissa Stunden.Melissa comes with experience as a certified sommelier and years of managing regional and national restaurant accounts at a leading wine agency. She started her career in beverage alcohol working at a local winery in Niagara and went on to complete her sommelier education to work at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment\, one of Canada’s largest food and beverage outlets. She worked under Master Sommelier Jennifer Huether as the Assistant Sommelier for 7 years before making the move to the distributor side of the business. Melissa was recruited by Diageo as their Reserve Brand Specialist where she focused solely on developing the high end wines and spirits portfolio. From there\, she moved to Lifford Wine & Spirits where she focused on the restaurant side of the business developing key relationships across Toronto and subsequently took that experience to a national scale where she built the Lifford business into national restaurant chains.
