DESCRIPTION:DEI OVER WINE: COHORT 2\n\nWEDNESDAY JUNE 26 @ 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM\n\nDEI Over Wine is a three-part series taught by NYK’s Beverage Education Manager\, Maiah Johnson Dunn (she/her)\, and Rochester-area DEI Practitioner\, Syd Bell (she/her). \nMaiah and Syd serve up diversity\, equity\, and inclusion concepts in actionable conversations paired with real-world examples. Together\, we’ll dissect power and privilege and the importance of context\, explore building inclusive spaces\, and create a roadmap for active allyship. \nWe encourage businesses to send two team members as diversity of perspective is important to this work. Come prepared for honest conversation and good wine. \nWhat You’ll Learn: \nWednesday\, June 26: Session 1: Laying the groundwork.\nYou’ll learn how we got here\, how each individual’s actions can drive change\, and the difference between intent and impact. \nWednesday\, July 31: Session 2: Exploring people – yourself included.\nYou’ll learn about the different identities (and biases) we hold\, and how to consider them when making decisions for your business. \nWednesday\, August 21: Session 3: Building inclusive spaces.\nYou’ll hear from your peers\, identify what makes a space inclusive\, and leave with the tools to put your learning into practice. \nDownload the DEI Over Wine Event Flyer here to learn more. \nThe ticket price is good for one person to attend the three-part series. We encourage businesses to send two team members as diversity of perspective is important to this work. The classes will run monthly on the following dates: 6/26\, 7/31\, 8/21.
