PRESS RELEASE
The Lake George Region’s Choice for Best Annual Event Returns June 28 & 29
(LAKE GEORGE, N.Y.) The Adirondack Wine & Food Festival returns to Lake George on Saturday, June 28 & Sunday, June 29. Recently named the #1 annual event by LakeGeorge.com voters, the Festival will feature 120+ of New York’s best wineries, distilleries, breweries, cideries, artisan food producers, food trucks, crafters, and more at the Charles R. Wood Festival Commons in Lake George Village.
“I am honored to say that the Adirondack Wine and Food Festival has been voted as the region’s #1 Annual Event. It has become the official kickoff to Summer in Lake George, drawing new and repeat attendees from near and far to experience the incredible culinary and craft beverage products of small family-owned business from all over New York State, significantly boosting tourism and creating a vital economic impact for our area,” said Festival Founder and Adirondack Winery President, Sasha Pardy.
The family-friendly event is one of the most celebrated wine and food events in the Northeast, drawing visitors from 36 states. Now in its 9th year, the Festival anticipates 6,000+ young, affluent attendees this year – an important demographic for the region. According to post-fest surveys, 90% of attendees plan their Lake George stay specifically to attend the festival, generating over 8,400 room nights and $3.4M+ in economic impact for the region. For discerning Festival go-ers, VIP tickets are back with an impressive VIP goodie bag, front-row seats at the Culinary Tent, a VIP Hangout area bigger than ever before, and exclusive access to brand new VIP restrooms.
The Festival welcomes back a great lineup of local solo acoustic musicians organized by 518 Rock; as well as the impressive Street Magic of TJ Clancy, the jaw-dropping stilt walking, and aerial work from Jessica Black, and a 360-degree live photo booth from SNA 360 Media.
The “Biergarten” tent managed by Adirondack Brewery is also returning to the festival. Attendees can purchase full glasses of Adirondack Brewery and Mean Max Beers, or Adirondack Winery wines, and sit back and relax in the shade while they chill with their friends.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will enjoy Culinary and Cocktail demonstrations and competitions under the exciting Culinary & Cocktail Tent. These segments feature local chefs and mixologists as they prepare food and drinks made with ingredients supplied by Festival vendors. Plus, there will be two “Iron Chef”-style cooking competitions on Saturday, with the winners from each segment going head-to-head on Sunday; as well as a mixology competition on Sunday.
“We encourage attendees to come with families, and especially locals, to attend on Sunday when there is more room to roam and a more laid-back atmosphere. Designated Drivers get in for only $20 and Kids 15 and under get in free; and will enjoy access to a kids activity tent, food trucks, samples from artisan food vendors and non-alcoholic beverage vendors, and there is a natural playground and skatepark right outside our gates,” said Festival Manager, Brad Willett.
This year’s festival beneficiaries are Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks (BBBS, returning for the 7th year, with nearly $100K in fundraising under their belt through the fest) and Soroptimist International of the Adirondacks (SIA). BBBS operates the Drop-Off / Pick-Up Tent, where guests can “check” the beverages and foods they purchase at the festival until they are ready to leave. They’ll also sell raffle tickets for amazing gift baskets filled with goodies from Festival vendors. “We have developed a great partnership with the Festival team as their beneficiary. Their investment in our agency year after year ignites the potential of our local youth!” CEO/Executive Director Bill Moon states.
“Soroptimist of the Adirondacks, a not-for-profit women’s service organization, is thrilled to participate in this year’s Festival,” says Wanda Smith, Treasurer. “This event brings people together to celebrate not only great wine, but also the spirit of community involvement. Soroptimist members look forward to sharing our mission, fundraising and connecting with the community, in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.” Soroptimist will be providing supplemental volunteer support for a variety of festival needs.
“It takes an army of dedicated volunteers, Adirondack Winery staff members and customers, friends and family, filling over 100 shifts throughout the weekend to pull off this event, and we are so grateful for their support,” added Pardy.
Attendees will have the opportunity to “try before they buy” from an incredible list of over 120 vendors, both new and returning, including Presenting Sponsor Adirondack Winery & Extreme Heights Cidery, as well as our 2024 People’s Choice Vote Winners, including Cooperstown Distillery, Bombshell Hard Cider, Adirondack Brewery, The Bull & Bee Meadery, Caribbean Hibiscus, Cheese Filled Company, and The Mac Factor. A full vendor list is provided below.
As the official Transportation Sponsor, a dedicated CDTA shuttle will transport attendees to and from the festival via parking lots at the Lake George Elementary School and Lake George Village Hall.
