with Kevin Zraly
If you know New York wine, you might immediately think of the Finger Lakes and Riesling or your mind might go South to Long Island where Merlot often takes center stage, but the story doesn’t end there. Recently, many trade and media have been focusing on other leading varietals of New York’s major growing regions. In addition to the two getting most of the spotlight, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc are hot on their heels for some attention – and deservedly so. Join us, along with Kevin Zraly, one of the world’s foremost wine educators, for an exploration of the hallmark varietals of New York State. How are they different in expression than those you know from warmer regions? How are winemakers working with growers to coax the best out of these grapes in the vineyards? What are the winemakers in New York doing to put their cool-climate stamp on such well-known wines? Find out all this and more on December 17th.
