B.E.V. NY 2023: Making, Measuring, and Marketing New York Wine

There is no doubt that the craft of wine growing, and wine making has been romanticized as a mysterious art that can capture the beauty and essence of a region in a bottle. While that may be true, it is also a serious business.

That fact has become ever more apparent due to shifts in wine consumption in the United States that are significantly impacting our industry. Consumer spending and travel patterns, interest in sustainably produced and packaged wines, in addition to climate change are all impacting the way we grow grapes, what grapes we grow, how we make wine, package wine, and ultimately how we talk about our wine to enthusiasts.

This year’s B.E.V. NY conference is a three-day event focused on what story the data can tell us about these changing influences, and how we can make the most of opportunities for New York wine growing and winemaking for the future.

The Unity Awards

The Unity Awards were created in 1990 as a way to recognize, encourage, and celebrate cooperation among grape growers, wineries (and their staff), researchers, retailers and others to advance the entire industry. The winery and grower community in New York state has a rich history of working and succeeding together despite facing a variety of challenges through the years. Recognizing the longstanding and bold spirit of our community members and their numerous achievements, the New York Wine & Grape Foundation is proud to continue honoring industry leaders & champions of New York wine for more than 30 years.
