Join us on a journey into the cellars of 3 New York wine producers, for a behind the scenes look at the distinguishing characteristics of two of the state’s premier grape growing regions: the Finger Lakes and Long Island. Carlo DeVito, Author and Publisher, will lead the online tour and discussion – speaking with winemakers from Dr. Konstantin Frank (Keuka Lake, Finger Lakes), Silver Thread Vineyard (Seneca Lake, Finger Lakes), and Macari Vineyards (North Fork of Long Island) to learn about their different experiences, approaches and processes when it comes to farming and making wine in these unique AVAs.

About the Moderator:

Carlo DeVito

Carlo DeVito is a lifelong publishing executive with more than 20 years of experience. He has written more than 20 books. He has published many books with Edible Communities magazines; with numerous brands at Hearst magazines including Good Housekeeping, Country Living, Esquire, Town & Country, Cosmopolitan, House Beautiful and others; as well as working with M. Shanken Communications wherein he published books with Wine Spectator and Cigar Aficionado. His authors include Kevin Zraly, Matt Kramer, Oz Clarke, Tom Stevenson, Clay Risen, Jim Meehan, Michael Jackson, Stephen Beaumont, Joshua M. Bernstein, and many others.

He is the editor of East Coast Wineries blog which has more than 1.3 million individual page views, and has published more than half a dozen books on wine, beers, and spirits, including East Coast Wineries, Big Whiskey, The New Single Malt Whiskey, The Wine Notebook, and many others.

He was also the co-founder of Hudson-Chatham Winery, the first winery to achieve a score of 90 points or more for a red hybrid wine. The high acclaimed Baco Noir was the highest rated red hybrid varietal wine in North America.

Carlo he has appeared on television dozens of times including multiple times as guests on CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX morning shows in New York, as well as throughout the eastern seaboard. He has been a featured guest on WFAN (both TV and Radio), ESPN radio, WCBS and WABC radio, WAMC, and more than 60 radio stations nationwide. He has been featured in such newspapers as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Christian Science Monitor, the Hartford Courant, The Tampa Bay Tribune, and other national newspapers.
