NY’s FREE Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP)

Join us for an intro to NY’s SHARP program which qualifies employers for up to a 3-year exemption from a general scheduled OSHA inspection.

The SHARP program is a FREE service offered by The NYS On-Site consultation program. It is made up of businesses who have achieved a high degree of Safety & Health performance at their respective facilities. Upon recommendation by the NYS DOL SHARP Coordinator, employers may qualify for up to a three-year exemption from a general scheduled OSHA inspections. Employers who wish to participate can take the first step by scheduling a full service safety and health survey with our program, the service is FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL between the requesting employer and NYS DOL. The On-Site Consultation Program is a resource for safety and health issues and provides assistance and training that is FREE to businesses upon request.

This program is open to employers who:

  • Employ less than 250 employees on site
  • Employ less than 500 employees at all locations corporate-wide
  • Receive a comprehensive consultation from the On-Site Consultation Program
  • Correct all identified hazards
  • Institute and maintain an effective safety and health program

Benefits to Using the Program:

  • It is FREE and confidential to businesses and organizations in New York State
  • It offers FREE safety and health training, materials and assistance for both the employer and their employees
  • It provides a proven way to reduce losses through injury and illness of staff which can lead to additional savings
