- Pesticide safety information, either the revised EPA poster or an equivalent way of providing the required WPS pesticide safety concepts and information; poster available from www.pesticideresources.org. Old posters can be used as long as emergency contact information for the nearest hospital and Region 1 contact information is added.
- Pesticide application information including name of the pesticide applied, active ingredient(s), EPA registration number, REI, crop or site treated, date(s) and times application started and ended, and location and description of the treated area(s). These records must be kept for 2 years for WPS.
- In addition to the WPS application information above, NYSDEC and the USDA also require application information to be recorded and kept on file for 3 years. This form from the DEC will satisfy requirements for all https://extapps.dec.ny.gov/docs/materials_minerals_pdf/privatercdfr.pdf.
- A farm map is strongly recommended although not technically required. A farm map makes it easy for workers and handlers to easily ID the location of all farm fields and enables your workers to understand and be able to communicate to others the location of the applications. This is particularly important if a DEC inspection occurs.
- Hazard information which consists of a copy of the OSHA Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for each pesticide product. SDS are available from ag dealers, on-line from manufacturer websites, or from sites such as http://www.cdms.net/Label-Database. These can be kept in a binder or in a file cabinet at the central posting station. The SDS can also be kept electronically but workers and handlers must have unrestricted access and know how to access them.
Pesticide application information and SDS must be displayed within 24 hours after the end of the application and before workers enter the treated area. Display both for 30 days after the REI expires. (AW & SM)
