After honing his craft at Lucas Vineyards, Edward embarked on a worldwide winemaking odyssey, traveling to California, New Zealand, Australia, and Italy. With each stop, he learned not only new techniques but also gained a profound respect for the distinct characteristics each region had to offer.
Despite his international experience, Edward always felt a deep connection to the Finger Lakes. When the opportunity arose to return to the region in 2021, this time as head winemaker at Glenora Wine Cellars, it felt like coming full circle. “The Finger Lakes always had a special place in my mind,” Edward says. “I’m still so impressed by the wines and the people here.”
For Edward, the Finger Lakes presents the perfect stage to craft world-class Rieslings and sparkling wines. He has embraced Glenora’s legacy, expanding its already strong sparkling wine program and focusing on varieties like Chardonnay and Riesling, which thrive in the region’s cool climate. His passion for innovation is evident in creations like the Seyval Blanc Pet-Nat, which highlights the potential of hybrid grapes in modern winemaking.
