PENN YAN NY, November 2, 2021 – The New York Wine & Grape Foundation (NYWGF) is pleased to announce a new, creative partnership with wine educator Dan Belmont to update and reimagine the New York Course & Reference Guide.

New York wines are now available in markets across the United States and throughout the international markets of Canada, Europe, and Asia. Information about New York wine and grape growers is frequently sought by global trade, media, and consumers wanting to learn more about the region, its history, major viticultural regions, winemaking trends, winemakers, growers, and more.

To revitalize the guide and weave the stories of today into the document, NYWGF is proud to partner with Dan Belmont, a wine expert with deep New York wines knowledge and a proven passion and talent for telling our stories.

“As a native New Yorker based in London, Dan has been a Brand Ambassador for both our International and Domestic Marketing programs in the past and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with him,” said Sam Filler, NYWGF Executive Director. “Given his deep knowledge of New York Wines and strong relationships with winemakers across the state, coupled with his unique and engaging style, Dan was a natural choice to help us create the ultimate New York wines reference manual. We look forward to delivering a wealth of information on our history, people, winegrowing, and winemaking with a bold new voice.”

“I think the potential for this project is huge, and I’m humbled to be leading the charge,” said Dan Belmont. “It is by no means a solo effort, I’ve enlisted the help of seasoned editor and marketing expert Allison Busacca (New York Times, BBC, Instagram, Whatsapp) and together we’ll work closely with the wonderful team at the NYWGF to build an exciting and vital resource for global trade, media, and consumers alike. We’ve got an amazing story here, and it is my honor to tell it.”

An updated New York Wine Course & Reference Guide, along with new education curriculum for international and domestic trade, media, and consumers is expected to be available in July 2022.

Please reach out to Valerie Venezia-Ross, Director of Programs and Marketing, should you have any questions regarding this partnership.
